About me

My name is Petr, I am 46 years old and I live in Kopřivnice, Czech Republic. I graduated from Economics at the University of Ostrava. Since I was 12 years old, I have been learning English from native speakers from the USA and Canada (hence my mixed accent).

For 15 years, I have been actively using English in a corporate environment on a daily basis (see my linkedin). Because I enjoy learning, during that time I continued to teach conversational English as a freelancer.

5 years ago, I discovered the game Dungeon and Dragons and it caught my attention so much that I couldn't resist, simplified the rules and turned it into a method for learning English. That's how Roleplay English was born.

My current students enjoy it even more and so do I. I wouldn't want to teach it any other way.

I present the students with the skeleton of a story and they play the main role in it. No one knows where it will take us, because the students' decisions direct the story. So it's not about English grammar, but about experiencing how English works. Although the student deals with fictional situations, the reactions of the characters in the story are real (I speak on their behalf). The result is real emotions on both sides, which is why the method works so well.
